Roger L. Hintz, age 76, of Eldorado, died on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born on July 23, 1947, in Waupaca, the son of Norbert and Vivian (Christensen) Hintz. Roger served in the United States Air Force from December 6, 1965, until February 28, 1969, where he was a jet mechanic, including a tour in Vietnam. On June 9, 1973, he married Carol Jean Junaitis at Presentation Church in North Fond du Lac. She preceded him in death on March 21, 2012. Roger worked as a mechanic and truck driver most recently for Roberts Trucking until retirement. He loved motorcycles and built his own trike. He was a member of the Brothers of the Third Wheel since 2001. Roger was a longtime 4-H leader, was involved with Rosendale/Brandon Softball for over 30 years, and was a longtime member and past Commander of Rosendale VFW Post 10195.
Survivors include two children, Greg (Heidi) Hintz and Sue (Dominic) Miller; three grandchildren, Ian, Alexia, and Bryce; sister-in-law, Karen (Gary) Theisen; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and brother, Richard (Bonnie) Hintz.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, February 3, 2024, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow the visitation at the funeral home at 4:00 PM. Cremation has taken place. Military graveside honors will follow the service at the funeral home. Interment will take place on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Rosendale Cemetery.
