Roger R. Schuber, 80, of 798 Cty Rd. V in Fond du Lac died Friday, May 21, 2004 at Manorcare Nursing Home. Roger was born October 29, 1923 in Fond du Lac, a son of Richard and Margaret Roth Schubert. On March 21, 1959 he married Verna Moses in Fond du Lac.Roger was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army from 1943-1946 in Battery "B", 382nd Coast Artillery Battallion in the South Pacific. Roger was self employed as a carpenter most of his life and also worked at Damrow and ran numerous bowling alleys in Rhinelander, New London, and Stevens Point. He was the secretary of the 382nd AAA AW Reunion Organization. He loved bingo, traveling, hunting, fishing and bowling.Roger is survived by four children; Bruce (Debi) Schubert of Fond du Lac, Carol (Dennis) Haessley of Plainfield, John (Jane) Schubert of Fond du Lac, Dawn (Paul) Drake of Stevens Point, 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, his significant other; Jan Duquaine, one brother; Carlyle (Shirley Jo) Schubert of Fond du Lac, one aunt; Donna Roth of Fond du Lac, three sister-in-laws; Margaret Schubert of Fond du Lac, Dorothy (Frank) Eggers of Fond du Lac, Genevieve McGrath of Fond du Lac, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one brother, and one sister.At Roger's request, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place with private inurnment at Ledgeview Memorial Park Cemetery. Trier-Puddy American Legion Post 75 will conduct military graveside services.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is serving the family.
