Ronald E. Brien Ronald E. Brien, 57, of 23 Bryn Mawr Circle, Fond du Lac, died Wednesday, December 15, 2010, as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Washington County. He was born February 15, 1953, in North Fond du Lac, the son of Ernest and Gertrude Puro Brien. He received his Baptism on March 1, 1953 and his Confirmation in 1967 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church. He graduated from Horace Mann High School in North Fond du Lac in 1971, and received his BBA, Accounting Degree in 1975 from the University of Wisconsin "“Whitewater. He became a CPA in 1978 and a certified Valuation Analyst in 1996. On June 28, 1975, he married Glenda Gaulke at St. Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac. He was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church where he was an usher, elder, treasurer, and a member of the financial review and the endowment committees. He was employed by Schenck CPA's since 1991 specializing in Audits, Business Planning & Consulting, Construction, Not-for-Profit, and Valuations. After his marriage, he was employed by accounting firms in Milwaukee, La Crosse, and Madison. In 1981, he moved to Fond du Lac and started his own accounting business while teaching accounting classes at Marian College and Moraine Park Technical College. In July of 1983, he merged his accounting practice with Wayne Wallschlaeger until July of 1991, when moved to Schenck. He was a member of the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, and the Homebuilders of Fond du Lac County. His community involvement included memberships in the Fond du Lac Noon Optimists where he was past president and Optimist of the year, past Lt. Governor (Distinguished), past District Secretary-Treasurer, and past chairman of Finance, New Club Building, and Achievements and Awards. Ron always knew his priorities: God, family, and service to others. His faith was number one proven by his strong love for God. He will be remembered as a loving, devoted husband, father and grandfather. His grandchildren were the joy of his life. He also enjoyed the years with his beloved Shih-Tzu, Sammy. He enjoyed hobbies of reading, golf, and the outdoors, spending numerous getaways and vacations, especially the times in Door County with his family.Surviving his wife, Glenda, two daughters, Rebecca (Philip) Dretske of Milwaukee and Laura (Brian) Rogers of Oshkosh, four grandchildren, with a grandchild due in May of 2011. He is further survived by his mother of Hartford, two sisters, Doreen (Michael Rock of North Fond du Lac, and Donna Brandt of Hartford, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. His father and a brother-in-law, John Brandt, preceded him in death.



Visitation for Ronald E. Brien will be on Sunday, December 19, 2010, from 3 to 7 PM at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 55 Prairie Road, Fond du Lac, and on Monday the 20th from 9:30 to 10:30 AM, again at the church. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM at the church on Monday. The Reverend David Haugly will officiate and entombment will be in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park Cemetery. The family requests that memorials be directed to Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, Winnebago Lutheran Academy, or Time of Grace Ministry.
