Ronald L. Krumbein, 78, of Fond du Lac, died peacefully Saturday, April 28, 2012 at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home with his wife by his side. He was born September 24, 1933 in Fond du Lac, the son of Arthur and Alice Rosenow Krumbein. He was a proud member of the U.S. Air Force as a jet engine mechanic serving from 1951 "“ 1955. On May 7, 1960 he married Mary Judith McCullen at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Fond du Lac. Ronald worked for the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad in Fond du Lac and the Sante Fe Railroad in Phoenix, AZ for many years. He later worked in maintenance at Rosenow Elementary School and worked part-time at the Wisconsin Air National Guard, Mitchell Field, Milwaukee. Ronald was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Trier-Puddy American Legion Post #75, Arizona Air National Guard, and Wisconsin Air National Guard.SURVIVORS: his wife of 52 years, Mary; three brothers, Vaughn and his wife, Phyllis of Stephenson, MI, Del and his wife, Nancy of Fond du Lac, and Denny of Fond du Lac; two sisters, Sharon and her husband, Eugene Pingel of Forest Junction and Debbi and her husband, Jerry Krause of Fond du Lac. He is further survived by nieces and nephews, Jeff and his wife, Heidi, Jay and his wife, Trish, Jody and her husband, Jeff Minton, Lori and her husband, Scott Sonntag, and Lisa and her husband, Marty Kiesow; five step-nephews, Craig (Wendy) Krause, Scott (Cheyenne) Krause, Jim (Kimberly) Krause, Michael (Angie) Krause, Christopher Krause, one very special step-niece, Amanda Krause, many great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Gene.
VISITATION: will be from 4 "“ 8 PM on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and again on Thursday from 10 "“ 11 AM at the church. The funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Redeemer Lutheran Church with Rev. James Borgwardt officiating.
