Ronald G. Mischka, 73, of Fond du Lac, died Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Fond du Lac Lutheran Home. He was born November 14, 1950 in Berlin, the son of Elmer and Anita Wacker Mischka.
Ron graduated from Wautoma High School in 1968. After graduation Ron worked at Speed Queen and the local bakery. He then worked at Otto’s meat market as a butcher for many years and continued as a butcher at two local supermarkets before becoming employed at the Waushara County Courthouse from where he retired.
Ron was a loving father to sons, Jeremy and Jamie, and adored his grandchildren. He liked hunting, fishing, playing golf, and was a stand out softball pitcher. He proudly served as a volunteer firefighter in Wautoma and was a youth bowling coach. Also a lifelong Packer fan.
After Ron was diagnosed with MS, he pushed himself to be as active as he could. He charmed his way into the heart of Linda Burkhardt, marrying her on December 6, 2001 in Fond du Lac. Ron loved people and had a warm sense of humor that drew people together and livened up the room wherever he went. Ron was easy to talk to and always had a joke, a song or a laughing smile.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; mother, Anita Mischka; former wife, Kathy (Lancaster) Mischka, mother of his two sons, Jeremy (Tammy) Mischka and Jamie (Kersten) Mischka; four step daughters, Kathryn (Scott) Johnson, Rebecca Jones, Kimberly Jones, and Elizabeth (Carlos Navarro) Meininger; grandchildren, Kennedy (Michael) Morris, Alex, Ike, Trevor, Carter, Mica, Bryton, Kiernan, Alanna, Norah, and Kaya; his siblings, Glen (Carol) Mischka, Steven (Becky) Mischka, Lisha (Keith) Austin, and Joey Mischka.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer (Anita) Mischka; and brother, Darrell (Linda) Mischka.
Thank you to the staff at Fond du Lac Lutheran Home, Lakeland, and Commonheart Hospice who cared for Ron.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at Fond du Lac Lutheran Home Chapel. A celebration of Ron’s life will also be held at Grimm’s in Wautoma at a later date. Cremation has taken place.
