Ronald W. Schaefer

Ronald W. Schaefer, age 80 of Fond du Lac, died Monday, January 21, 2013 at his residence. He was born in Fond du Lac on August 12, 1932 the son of Walter and Lillian Schaefer. On June 20, 1951 he married Jo Ann Streck at Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church. Jo Ann preceded him in death on March 17, 1984. Ronald was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the U.S. Marine Corps. He was employed with Swift Company in Fond du Lac and Oshkosh working in the factory and driving truck. He was a member of Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church. Ronald liked going out to the Stretch Truck Stop visit with friends and truck drivers. He enjoyed going to his son, Jeff's on Sunday's for a home cooked meal and spending time with his grandchildren.SURVIVORS: Ronald is survived by two sons, Jeffrey (Connie) Schaefer, Fond du Lac and Gary Schaefer, Lorton, VA, four grandchildren, Becky (Steve) Wagner, Heidi Christie, Jennifer Schaefer and Jeffrey R. Schaefer. He is further survived by 5 great-grandchildren, Jordan, Cheyanne, Hanna, Kaleb and Carter. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Jackie and one brother Mark.



VISITATION: Friends may call on Friday, January 25, 2013 from 11:00AM to 12:00 Noon at Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church. FUNERAL: Funeral services will be held Friday, January 25, 2013 at 12:00 Noon at Redeemer Lutheran Church with Reverend James Borgwardt officiating. Burial will follow in Estabrooks Cemetery. Trier-Puddy American Legion Post No.75 will conduct military graveside services.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
