Rose M. Shannon, 94, passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2004, at the St. Francis Nursing Home where she resided for the past 4 years. She was born in Fond du Lac on April 1, 1910, a daughter of Jacob and Veronica Moersch Schorr. She was a 1928 graduate of Fond du Lac Senior High School. On November 28, 1934, she married Raymond Shannon at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fond du Lac. He preceded her in death in 1981. Mrs. Shannon was a member of Holy Family parish.Surviving are 3 daughters, Pat (Mike) Straub, Sharon (Ron) Gravelle, Mary (Rick) McQueen, and one son, Mike (Rita) Shannon all of Fond du Lac. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, Maureen Straub, Michele (Eric) Kuhfuss, Jeffrey (Kathy) Gravelle, MariJo Gravelle, Scott (Stacie) Basler, Jennifer Basler, Duncan (Heather) McQueen, Heather (Larry) Zielke, Nicole (Matthew) Murray, Stephanie Shannon, Katie Shannon and Michael Shannon, Jr.; 7 great grandchildren, Jessica Straub, Cooper Kuhfuss, Kyra Rose, Mason and Marissa Gravelle, Lily Rose Basler, and Aidan McQueen: nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Raymond, she was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters, Florence Flood, Amelia Gutreuter, and Edna Johnston, and one brother, Sylvester Schorr.



Visitation for Mrs. Rose M. Shannon will be on Friday, October 15, 2004, from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm at Holy Family parish-Sacred Heart Church, Peters and Western Avenue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 pm on Friday at the church with the Rev. Patrick Heppe officiating. Entombment will follow at the Chapel of The Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Rose's name may be directed to St. Francis Home, 33 Everett Street, Fond du Lac, WI 54935. Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
