Rosemary C. O'Connor, 90, a resident of the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home for the past two years, went home to the Lord on Wednesday, May 30, 2012. Prior to being at the Lutheran Home, she had lived with her daughter and son-in-law on Rogersville Road for three years. She was born November 27, 1921, in the Town of Springvale, the daughter of Herman and Mary Louise Wilson Dunn. Rosemary was a 1938 graduate of St. Mary's Springs Academy. She was formerly employed by Cele Neice as a hairdresser from 1938 to 1942, and later worked for Bestt Roller and the G & L Davis plant. On May 21, 1942, she married Russell F. O'Connor at St. Mary's Church in Eldorado. He preceded her in death on August 14, 1995. In 1972, she graduated from Moraine Park Technical College as a Licensed Practical Nurse. During her nursing career, she was employed by Grancare Nursing Center and the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home from where she retired in 1992. Rosemary was active in the Goodrich Little Theater, crafting, and quilting. She made quilts for Mid States Aluminum charities. Both she and her husband were Hospice volunteers. Rosemary was a life-long member of Church of The Presentation in North Fond du Lac. Surviving are five daughters, Suellen (Dr. Edward) Jackson of Sanford, NC, Candis (Roger) Pederson of Fond du Lac, Eloise (Kenneth) Baierl of Fond du Lac, Kathleen (Jeffrey) Pauly of Saukville, WI, and Carol (Richard) Henke of North Fond du Lac, two sons, Daniel (Song) O'Connor of Austin, TX, and John (Lorrie) O'Connor of Ludington, MI, 27 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents,her husband, Russell, a daughter, Karen Spiering, two granddaughters, Debbie Spiering and Heather Baierl-Jones, a great-granddaughter, Grace Elaine Wendt, two brothers, Jim and Joe Dunn, and four sisters, Helen Finn, Grace Stevens, Sister Mary Sylvester SSND, and Margaret Dunn. Also preceding her in death were her foster parents, Elizabeth and Joseph Kitchen and Grace Wilson.
Per Rosemary's wishes, her body has been donated to the University of Wisconsin Medical School Anatomy Department. A memorial Mass to celebrate Rosemary's life will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2012, at 11 AM at Church of The Presentation, 705 Michigan Avenue, North Fond du Lac. Visitation at the church will be from 10 AM until the time of services. The family requests that memorials be directed to Agnesian Hospice Hope, 239 Trowbridge Drive, Fond du Lac, or the Fond du Lac Humane Society for the care of cats, 652 Triangle Drive, Fond du Lac.
