Rosemary was called to her final resting at the age of 87 on April 20, 2014 at her current residence of Woodlands Senior Care in Fond du Lac. Before moving to the Woodlands, she resided at 278 N. Seymour St. in Fond du Lac. She was born September 5, 1926 to John and Mary (Hochrein) Hanke in Charlesburg, Calumet County, Wisconsin. Rosemary graduated from L.P. Goodrich Senior High School in 1945. On May 29, 1948, she married Gorden Christie at St. Joseph Rectory in Fond du Lac. Rosemary was employed at Mac Gregor for 22 years, the Holiday Inn for 5 years, the Action Advertiser for 5 years and Kwik Trip for 3 years. In addition to her work, she enjoyed her family, gardening and playing cards. She is survived by two daughters; Jackie (William) Lemke of Aurora, CO, Kay (Francis) Buechel of Malone, a son, Tom (Kathy) Christie of Oakfield, five daughters-in-law; Claudia Christie of Rosendale, Regina Christie of Appleton, Mary Christie of Fond du Lac, Kathy Borth of Fond du Lac, Carol Kinyon of Rogersville, eleven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, four sons; William, Richard, Kenneth and David, one brother, Nathan (Bea) Hanke, two sisters; Shirley (Don) Faul and Geraldine (Bob) Mangan.
A visitation for Rosemary will be held on Friday, April 25, 2014 from 10:00 A.M. til 1:00 P.M. at Presentation Catholic Church, 705 Michigan Ave. in North Fond du Lac. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at 1:00 P.M. with the Rev. Edward Sippel presiding. Burial will follow in Estabrooks Cemetery.
