Royal David “Buster” Goodman, 69, died at All About Life Rehabilitation Center on Saturday, November 14, 2015. He was born on February 17, 1946 in Fond du Lac, a son of the late Gordon and Elaine (Mielke) Goodman. He went to Presentation Parish grade school and graduated from Horace Mann High School in North Fond du Lac. While in the U.S. Army, Royal served tours of duty in both Germany and Vietnam.
In 1968, he married Mary Lou Hendricksen. Together, they had two children, Daniel and Rhonda. In 1977, he married Martha Zuelsdorf with whom he had two daughters. He has four beautiful grandchildren whom he loves dearly. In 2012, Royal married Candy Lobby, whom he called his one true soul mate. She passed away from ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) in 2013. They were true lovebirds in life.
Royal worked for Wells Mfg., George Webb Restaurant, the North Fond du Lac School District, and the Fond du Lac School District, from which he retired. He was a member of American Legion Trier-Puddy Post #75.
He is survived by 2 daughters; Erin (Travis) Weber and Sara Bartels; 4 grandchildren, Caleb Goodman, Nolan, Gavin, and Hannah Bartels; 3 sisters, Joyce Kain of Fond du Lac, Debbie Heffner of Ironwood, Mich., and Wendy (Tom) Skotarzak of North Fond du Lac; 4 brothers, Keith (Lena) of Green Bay, David (Cathy), Kevin (Betty) and Glenn, all of Fond du Lac; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Candy, his parents; a brother, Gordy; and brother-in-law, Rudy Heffner.
Visitation for Royal will be held both Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2015 from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home in Fond du Lac as well as on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2015 at Uecker-Witt from 10:00 AM until the beginning of the memorial service at 11:00 AM. Officiating will be Pastor Bill Beaton with military honors presented by the American Legion Trier-Puddy Post #75. Cremation has taken place and burial will occur on Friday, Nov. 27, 2015 in Rienzi Cemetery in Fond du Lac.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Royal’s name.
