Ruth L. Beirne

Ruth L. Beirne, age 99, of Fond du Lac, died Sunday, March 10, 2024, at Woodlands Senior Living. She was born on February 25, 1925, in Brillion, WI, the daughter of Harvey and Esther (Wolfmeyer) Schnell. Ruth graduated from Brillion High School. On July 30, 1949, she married James H. Beirne. He preceded her in death February 6, 1995. Ruth worked at Haentze Floral and then JC Penney’s from where she retired. She was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church. A longtime resident of Takodah Heights, Ruth enjoyed watching bird and deer from her windows, gardening, and going up north. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. 

Survivors include her daughter, Patti (James) Supple; four grandsons, Matthew (Jennifer) Supple, David (Tammy) Supple, Steven (Emily) Supple, and Michael Supple; three great-granddaughters, Madison, Autumn, and Jelana; four great-grandsons, Caden, Trevin, Logan, and Austin; one great-great-grandson, Ryker Matthew James; one brother-in-law, Al (Jan) Schaick; nephews and nieces, Thomas Beirne, Dennis Schnell, Steven (Denise) Schaick, Larry (Sandy) Schaick, James (Jody) Schaick, Mary Kay (Allen) Benotsch; and other relatives and friends.   She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Robert Edward; one brother, Arlin “Bud” (Lois) Schnell; one sister, Betty Schaick; brother-in-law, Ross (Gwendolyn) Beirne; nephews, James (Lois) Beirne, Michael Beirne.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, April 7, 2024, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow the visitation at the funeral home at 2:00 PM. Cremation has taken place and interment will take place at a later date at Ledgeview Memorial Park.
