Ruth C. Eiring, 78, died Tuesday, December 29, 2009, at St. Francis Home where she had been a resident for the past five years. She was born February 18, 1931, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Lawrence and Bernice Wilhelm Floyd. On January 22, 1949, she married Herman Eiring in Fond du Lac, and he preceded her in death on March 24, 2000. Ruth was formerly employed as a purchasing agent for Fond du Lac County for over 20 years. Surviving is a son, Donald (Mona) Eiring of Fond du Lac, a daughter, Sue Hurlbut of Oshkosh, three grandsons, Chad and Jason Eiring, and Bret Hamer, one granddaughter, Keli Hamer, three great-grandchildren, five brothers, Earl (Carol) Floyd, Chuck (Arlene) Floyd,, Dennis Floyd, Roger Floyd, and Roy (Josephine) Floyd, and three sisters, Jean Salzman, Ellen Sobralski and Mary Jo Floyd. Her parents, husband, and an infant sister, Eileen, preceded her in death.
Visitation for Mrs. Ruth C. Eiring will be on Saturday, January 2, 2010, at St. Francis Nursing Home Chapel, 33 Everett Street, Fond du Lac, from 9 to 10 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am on Saturday at the chapel. The Rev. Joseph Wolf C.A.P. OFM will officiate and entombment will be in the Chapel of The Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery. Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
