Ruth D. Schumacher

Ruth D. Schumacher, age 93, formerly of 576 W. Arndt St, Fond du Lac, died Thursday, October 30, 2008 at Hospice Home of Hope. She was born on October 9, 1915 in the Town of Black Wolf the daughter of Bernhard "Ben" and Della (Berwald) Knack. On July 23, 1932 she married George Schumacher in Van Dyne. Ruth was a histologist at St. Agnes Hospital. She was a member of Redeemer Ev. Lutheran Church, the Altar Society and the Ladies Society, the Low Vision Group, and the WI Histology Society. She was a volunteer at the Galloway House, the Senior Center, and St. Agnes Hospital.SURVIVORS: two children, Ralph (Bethel) Schumacher of North Fond du Lac, and Janet (Lee) Belanger of Hortonville, seven grandchildren, David (Nancy) Schumacher, Stephen (Deb) Schumacher, Peter (Denyse) Schumacher, Kristine (Anthony) Pinto, Matthew Belanger, Andrew (Deanna) Belanger, Jill (Mark) Everson, fourteen great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, sisters in law, Ella Potratz, Gertrude Hencke, Mabel Schumacher, Marjorie Knack, and Laura Knack, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George in 1965, infant daughter Joyce, two brothers, Reuben Knack, Raymond Knack, and sister, Lucille Hinz.



VISITATION: Sunday, November 2, 2008 from 4:30-7:00 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave, Fond du Lac. FUNERAL: Monday, November 3, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at Redeemer Ev. Lutheran Church with the Reverend Fred Toppe officiating. Burial will follow at Ledgeview Memorial Park. Friends may call on Monday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services.
