Ruth Ella (Wolf) Cleveland, went to her heavenly home on the wings of angels on January 9,2012 Formerly of Fond du Lac, Ruth spent the last three years at Crystal River Nursing Home in Waupaca to be near her daughter Paula. Ruth was born the second daughter of Arthur and Bertha (Appel) Wolf on November 28, 1919. On March 12, 1949, she married Ray Cleveland at Church of Peace, with Rev. Karl Koehler officiating. Ray preceded her in death on Oct.24 1985 Her parents as well as both of her sisters. Vickie Bacon, and Evelyn Abitz also preceeded her in death. Every year Ruth and her sisters, Evelyn and Vickie, would undertake marathon Christmas cookie baking. They had a family tradition of baking, frosting, decorating, and distributing several dozen Christmas cookies to every family member. Every flat surface in the kitchen and dining room would be covered with frosted Christmas cookies! The sisters, often referred to as the "Wolf Girls" raised families together, shopped together, played cards together, and especially enjoyed going out for breakfast together at Rolling Meadows Restaurant Ruth's reputation for her great apple pies was well known by the deer hunting members of her family. It was a yearly request that she happily filled. She grew beautiful roses in her garden, she spoiled her dogs, and she loved to dance, especially when she heard a polka. Ruth was very fond of Cardinals. A few days ago, a beautiful red Cardinal, was perched in the tree just outside her window. It was one of the angels sent to bring her home. Surviving Ruth are her children, Gene "Scotty" Cleveland, Fond du Lac, Paul (Judy) Cleveland North Fond du Lac, Paula (Don) Hunter-Wilhelm, Iola. Grand daughter Lisa (Jason) Glodowski Amherst, great grandsons, Ethan, Alex, and Issac Glodowski. She is further survived by nephews Terry Bacon, Bill (Jonie) Bacon, and Ray (Mary) Abitz Jr.
