Ruth Ellen Iacoviello

Ruth Ellen Iacoviello (nee Plagens), age 76, of Fond du Lac, passed away peacefully December 7, 2023, at Eden Vista Memory Care Community in Fond du Lac.  Ruth was born on March 10, 1947, in Fond du Lac to Erwin W. & Jane (Bonham) Plagens.  She graduated from Goodrich High School in 1965. 

Ruth was the beloved wife of the late Charles Iacoviello.  Devoted mother of Angela (Michael) Brannigan. Proud grandmother of Brady and Paul Brannigan.  Loving aunt of Alison Plagens Hohnke, Nathan (Karah) Plagens, along with nine additional nieces and nephews. 

Ruth was a strong, creative, talented, independent woman. She worked many jobs in her lifetime, including math teacher at Laconia High School and medical transcriptionist at Agnesian Healthcare. She was member of First Presbyterian Church of Fond du Lac. Her spare time was filled with many hobbies, house projects, and gardening. Her amazing yet quirky gardening style in her yard won her a coveted spot in the Agnesian Garden Walk. She was a Wisconsin sports fan, especially the Packers, and an avid collector of all things Pepsi. Other favorite activities were golfing, bowling, reading, swimming, attending Country USA, watching General Hospital, traveling with family & friends, and keeping up with her grandsons’ activities.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, Erwin W. and Jane (Bonham) Plagens; husband, Charles; brother, Robert Plagens; sister, Bonnie Plagens; mother-in-law, Florence (Giordano) Iacoviello; sister-in-law, Kathleen (Lawless) Iacoviello; brother-in-law, Wayne Iacoviello; and brother-in-law, Thomas Fay, Jr. 

The visitation will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023, from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church, Fond du Lac. The memorial service will follow the visitation at church at 11:00 AM. Burial will occur at Rosendale Cemetery. Cremation has taken place.
