Mrs. Ruth M. DollRuth Marie Doll (80), of 368 Mason Street, Fond du Lac, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 15, 2005, at Rolling Meadows Nursing Home. She was born on April 18, 1925, in Fond du Lac, to Lester and Elizabeth (Thurk) Du Frane. On January 17, 1948, Ruth married Linus E. Doll in Fond du Lac. She graduated from St. Joseph's grade school with the class of 1939 and graduated from Fond du Lac High School with the class of 1942. Before her marriage she worked at Infant Socks. She then became a homemaker, raising her children, and working part time as a cook and waitress at Bernward Hall for over 20 years. Later, she worked at St. Agnes Hospital for 11 years, before retiring as head cook in 1989.A long time member of St. Mary's Church of Holy Family Parish, Ruth was an active member of the Altar Society, Daughters of Isabella, and also was involved as a Eucharistic Minister, Greeter, and a member of the "Holy Dusters" the church cleaning team. Upon her retirement from St. Agnes Hospital, Ruth volunteered her services at the hospital, first in the admitting department and then in the gift shop until medical problems forced her to retire.Ruth loved to have her family come home so she could cook and bake for them. She was an avid reader, loved to play card games, insisted that her yard had plenty of flowers, and in her latter years, enjoyed her special programs on television. Ruth was a very devoted grandmother and great-grandmother. She thoroughly enjoyed having her grandkids come to Grandma's house, especially her twin great-granddaughters that she affectionately called "Frick" and "Frack."Ruth is survived by her husband, Linus, 3 sons, John, Peter (Debbie) both of Fond du Lac, Andrew (Colleen) of Sun Prairie and 2 daughters, Mary Beth (John) Kurzynski of Pulaski, and Theresa (Tim) Lewis of Green Bay, and a daughter-in-law, Rosann Doll of Van Dyne. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her sister, LaVerne (Donald) Flanders of Vicksburg, MI, and her brother, Robert "Buck" (Pat) Du Frane of Fond du Lac. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one son, Richard "Dick."



Visitation for Mrs. Ruth Marie Doll will be on Monday, July 18, 2005, from 4 to 8 pm at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, July 19, 2005, at 9:00 am from the funeral home and Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am at St. Mary's Church. The Rev. Victor Capriolo of Holy Family Parish will officiate and entombment will be in Chapel of The Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery.
