Sally Anne Giebel

Sally Anne Giebel, 83, passed away Friday, January 25, 2019 at her home in Eldorado after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born in Manitowoc on Tuesday, May 7, 1935, a daughter of Frank and Helene (LaMarche) Wolff. On Saturday, June 20, 1959, Sally Anne married Norbert Giebel at St. John the Baptist, now Our Risen Savior Catholic Church, in Woodhull.



Sally Anne was a 1952 graduate of St. Mary’s Springs Academy. She went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Marian University and a master’s degree from UW-Oshkosh. Starting in a one-room school, she taught for twelve years. Following her teaching career, Sally Anne spent twenty-one years working for the Department of Corrections. After retiring, she spent another twelve years volunteering for the Red Cross. She enjoyed traveling, especially the worldwide cruise that she and Norbert went on.



Survivors include her loving husband of nearly sixty years, Norbert; five children, Martha (Tom) Endejan, Eva (Jeff) Schneider, Mary Jane Krebsbach, Frank (Wendy) Giebel, and Matthew (Corene) Giebel; thirteen grandchildren, Mary (Otto) Khamphouy, Emma Endejan, Nathan (Monica) Schneider, Semra Schneider (Mike Clausing), Joshua Krebsbach, Samantha (Stephen) Bachhuber, Aaron Krebsbach, Lucas Krebsbach, Joanna (Adam) Currie, Nakeeta Giebel, Sierra Giebel, Mason (Mikayla) Giebel, and Quinn Giebel; and four great-grandchildren, Auden, Mavis, and Beckett Currie, and Adeline Khamphouy. She is further survived by three sisters, Claudette Wolff, Lianna (Rolland) Karlin, and Michelle Wolff; and a sister-in-law, Nancy Wolff.



She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-mother, Medora Wolff; a son-in-law, William Krebsbach; a grandson, Zachery Krebsbach; and three brothers, Thomas Wolff, Robert (Patricia) Wolff, and Richard Wolff.



The family wishes to extend a special thank you to St. Francis Rehabilitation, Agnesian Home Care and Agnesian Hospice.



Private services and burial are planned for the spring of 2019 with a celebration of Sally Anne’s life being held at a later date.



In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Mary’s Springs Academy and/or the American Red Cross.
