Sally S. Thome

Sally S. Thome, age 85, of Fond du Lac, died Thursday, August 14, 2014 at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home. She was born on January 22, 1929 in Milwaukee, the daughter of Stewart and Aileen (Pugh) Ewing. On April 14, 1950 she married Frederic Thome in Rockford, IL. After fifty-eight years of marriage, he preceded her in death on April 26, 2008. Sally worked for Georgetown Cleaners for many years and Hammon’s Floor Covering until her retirement. She was a longtime member of Salem United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing cards and was an avid reader. Sally loved socializing and made friends easily. She left a lasting impression on everyone she met. SURVIVORS: one son, Paul (June) Thome; three daughters, Nancy Buchholtz, Barbara (Bill) Zoch, and Lisa (Ron) Inks; six grandchildren, Brian (Kate) Thome, Eric Thome, Matthew Zoch, Andrew Zoch, Rylee Inks, and Sydney Inks; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Bev) Ewing; two sisters, Nancy (Tom) Luedcke and Ellen Sestak, and other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Frederic and his brother Randall and their sister Barbara; her sister Mary; her brother John and his wife Phyllis; and one son in law, Evan Buchholtz; and several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. VISITATION: Sunday, August 17, 2014 from 6-8 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. FUNERAL: Monday, August 18, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Salem United Methodist Church, 120 Sheboygan St, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. Visitation will take place on Monday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services. Burial will follow at Ledgeview Memorial Park.
