Selma Marie McLain, 90, a resident of the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home, died Saturday, July 14, 2007, at St. Agnes Hospital. She was born October 5, 1916, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Edward and Minna Hoffman Zamzow. On May 13, 1940, she married Robert R. McLain in Dubuque, Iowa. He preceded her in death on June 26, 1978. Mrs. McLain was formerly employed by Infant Socks for several years.Surviving are two sons, Daniel (Kristine) McLain and Mark (Debra) McLain, both of Fond du Lac, a daughter, Mary (Keith) Searl, of Fond du Lac, 12 grandchildren; Kara (Toney) Guildon, Michael (Jill) McLain, Kevin McLain, Kelly McLain, Nick (Maureen) McLain, Ryan McLain, Abe Searl, Joe Searl, Cliff Searl, Katie (Bryan) Rajdl, Tracy (Rodney) McPherson, and Carey McLain, nine great-granchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She is further survived by two sisters, Mildred M. Rein and Annette Gurath, both of Fond du Lac. Her parents, husband, two sons, Michael and Patrick McLain, and a brother, Bill Zamzow, preceded her in death.
Cremation will take place and a private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
