Sfc Michael M. J. Hebert

SFC Michael M. J. Hebert, 42, of 439 Ellis Street, died Friday, May 12, 2006, in Temple, TX, as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was born January 31, 1964, in Fond du Lac, the son of Maynard I. and Marjory J. Lyons Hebert. On June 22, 1989, he married Renate Herrmann in Denmark. SFC Hebert was a 21-year veteran of the US Army, and was currently serving at Fort Hood, TX. He entered the service in November of 1985. From December of 1990 to December of 1991, he served in Korea, from November of 2000 to May of 2001 he served in Kosovo, and from April of 2003 to December of 2003, he was stationed in Iraq. Among his citations are the Bronze Star w/V device, the Purple Heart, and several Army Commendation awards. Mike was an avid Packer fan no matter where he was stationed, and loved playing pool. He was a loving husband and caring father. Even though he received many awards for valor and service, his greatest accomplishments were his two children. He was a graduate of Merrill High School, Merrill, WI, and was listed in the "Who's Who" in Wisconsin High School Students. Surviving is his wife, Renate, a daughter, Christine, and a son, Michael M.J. II, both at home. He is also survived by four brothers, Stephen (Special Friend, Tammy Marino) of Fond du Lac, David Hebert, of Redgranite, Maynard II (Debbie) Hebert of Fond du Lac, and T.J. (Fiancé Wendy Schaumburg) of Fond du Lac, a sister, Christine (David) Lefeber of Fond du Lac,a step-brother, Henry Manderscheid; a step-sister, Tina Manderscheid, his mother-in-law Ida Herrmann of Fulda, Germany, sister-in-laws Margit (Ralf) and Timo Benneman of Germany and Karola (Brian) and Christopher Jorden of Korea, nieces and nephews, Bethany and Robert Lefeber, Melissa, Beth, Christopher, Nicholas, Nathan, and Brett Hebert, Troy, Justine, and Jaymee, Haley and Travis Hebert, Jonathan and Tristan Hebert, and his step-mother, Rosemary Hebert of Fond du Lac. A very friend Jessica Dudley and her family of Killeen, TX. His parents, a sister, Denni Marie Hebert, and a nephew, Stephen Nathan Hebert, preceded him in death.



Visitation for SFC Michael M.J. Hebert will be on Saturday, May 20, 2006, from 10 am to 2 pm at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Liturgy of the Word for Christian Burial will be on Saturday at 2 pm at the funeral home. Deacon Larry Hughes will officiate and cremation will follow the services.
