Shirley Jean Keenan

Shirley Jean (Perre′) Keenan, 74, of Fond du Lac, died peacefully in her daughter's arms, Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac. Shirley was born on July 9, 1937 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the daughter of Emile and Rosella Medinger Perre′, but lived most of her life in Fond du Lac. She married Robert T. Keenan on December 30, 1967 at Sacred Heart Church. Shirley was proud to have been a hairdresser for nearly 50 years. She worked at Hills Beauty Salon in FDL and most recently at Classic Cut in North Fond du Lac. Shirley was ill for the last 4 years, but that didn't stop her from being the family matriarch; sending birthday cards, holiday cards and thoughts to all nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and from watching over her 4 younger siblings. She also continued baking for friends and family as well as for many citywide fundraisers. And most importantly, she remained devoted to her three grandsons, Zane, Ty, and Bobby.She is survived by: her daughter, Julie (Doug) Keenan DeMotts, Fond du Lac; three grandsons, Zane, Ty and Bobby; three sisters, Kathy (Robert) Starbird of Brandon, Julie Brooks of Waupun, Rita (Mark) Perre′-Davis of Oak Hill, Virginia; one brother, Ken (Sue) Perre′ of Waupun, many nieces and nephews, Linda (Barry) Ver Meer, Wayne (Linda) Starbird, Ann (Tom) Montsma, Sandy (Joe) Vande Zande, Rob Brooks, Jennifer (James) Van Buren, Steve (Molly) Brooks, Chad (Tara) Perre′, Danyel (Tony) Evola, Kenny Perre′, Kevin Davis, and Emily Davis and over 20 great nieces and great nephews. She is also survived by three devoted friends, Judy King, Joan Andrew and Jeannie Davies. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert and her brother-in-law, Leroy Brooks.



VISITATION: will be from 4 "“ 8 PM on Friday, April 20, 2012 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and again on Saturday from 9 "“ 10 AM at the church. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Holy Family Church, 271 4th Street Way, Fond du Lac. Burial will be held in Estabrooks Cemetery.Shirley's daughter would like to thank the staff of the Hospice Home of Hope for the wonderful care given to her mother.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
