Shirly F. Mccormick

Shirly F. McCormick, 73, of Fond du Lac, Wis., was called home by the Lord on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. She was born in Wadena, Minn. on Tuesday, July 17, 1945, a daughter of George and Ardys (Goldie) McCormick. Shirly was a 1963 graduate of L.P. Goodrich High School in Fond du Lac.



In Shirly’s own words, she expresses a passion for a life with purpose; “I was called to be a nurse by the Lord and graduated from the Fond du Lac Technical Institute (now Moraine Park Technical College) as an LPN. In 1985, I graduated from Fox Valley Tech as an RN. My passion to care for others never wavered in all the positions held. My joy was their recovery – my tears were for them and their families when they passed. My only regret is leaving all of those I loved, but having joy being with the Lord.”



Survivors include two children, Tami (Doug) White of Spring, Tex. and Shane Strook of Fond du Lac; three grandchildren, Jayce, Mariah and Hudson, all of Spring; four siblings, Peggy (Richard) Battig of Council Bluffs, Iowa; her twin sister, Sharon McCormick (husband Leo Dunton) of Sheboygan, Wis.; Terri (Ken) McCormick-Dawson of Hobart, Wis.; and Dan (Terry) McCormick of Osawatomie, Kan; and nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew, Daniel Bera.



Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM, Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Memorial Baptist Church, 645 Forest Ave. in Fond du Lac. A funeral service will be held at 2:30 PM with Pastor Keith Cogburn officiating. Burial in Estabrooks Cemetery will follow the service.
