Silas Kephas "Keef" Sindahl, Jr, 81 of North Fond du Lac, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2006 at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born on August 1, 1925 in Neenah the son of Silas K. and Mayme Lenz Sindahl, Sr. On April 7, 1945 he married Helen M. Scharfenberg making their home in North Fond du Lac. Silas was a graduate of Horace Mann High School, North Fond du Lac. Silas worked for 10 ½ years on the Soo Line Railroad and later became a tool and dye specialist for Wells Manufacturing retiring on July 31, 1987. He was a member of Community United Methodist Church, North Fond du Lac and a member of Fond du Lac Lodge No.26 Free & Accepted Masons where he was recently honored as a 50 year member. After retiring he enjoyed shooting pool with his friends, building remote control airplanes and boats, working on watches, tinkering in his machine shop, listening to the Cubs and the Packers, traveling and belonging to the model railroad club and building model railroads.Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years Helen Sindahl, of North Fond du Lac, one daughter, Judy (David) Lamb, of North Fond du Lac, son-in-law, Gerald L. Golden, of Ohio, four grandchildren, Ross (Debbie) Golden of Ohio, Douglas and Christina Lamb of North Fond du Lac, and Timothy Lamb of Lamartine, six great-grandchildren, Evan, Taylor, Bailey, Kaden, Kaelyn, and Morgan, three step-grandchildren, Jennifer, Matthew and Amanda, one sister-in-law Patricia Ford, North Fond du Lac and a niece and nephews. Silas was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Maureen L. Golden, two brothers and sister-in-laws; Harley (Louise) Sindahl and Howard (Dorothy) Sindahl, two brother-in-laws, Herbert (Joyce) Scharfenberg and John Ford, Jr.
Visitation will be on Thursday, September 14, 2006 from 11:00 A. M. to 2:00 P.M. at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Masonic funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. at the funeral home on Thursday, September 14, 2006 followed by a religious service at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Kyochul Shin officiating. Burial will follow at Estabrooks CemeteryUecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
