Stanley R. Simpson, 65, of 146 Yacoub Lane, Fond du Lac, died Saturday, July 10, 2010, at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born June 23, 1945, in Aberdeen, Scotland, the son of Stanley and Agnes "Nan" Burnett Simpson. On July 25, 1980, he married Janice C. Boehrig Schmidlkofer in Aberdeen, Scotland. As a young man, he was a member of The Boys Brigade earning many merit badges. He graduated from Arbroath High School and Dundee School of Technology, Scotland, UK earning a degree in electrical and electronic engineering work, and later immigrating to the United States in 1980 and became a United States Citizen on August 9, 1986. From 1980 to the end of 1997, he was employed in California by several companies in the electronics field, and also had his own business, Wafer Probing Technology. He and his wife moved to Rockford, IL in 1997, before moving to Fond du Lac in 2003. While in Rockford and Fond du Lac, he also worked for several car dealerships as a sales representative. He retired in 2004. He was a very good golfer, attaining a hole in one, and enjoyed soccer and rugby. Surviving is his wife, Janice, a daughter by his previous marriage, Vicky (Stefan) Milne of Arbroath, Scotland, a grandchild to be born in October, a brother, Harry (Dorothy) Simpson of Arbroath, Scotland, a niece, Lynn (Ian) Cameron, a nephew, Paul (Ruth) Simpson, both of Arbroath, Scotland, aunts, uncles, cousins, and his former wife, Sheila (Jim) Ratcliff of Arbroath, Scotland. He is further survived by two step-sons, Michael (Carel) Schmidlkofer of Island Lake, IL, and Steven (Lorann) Schmidlkofer of Vancouver, WA, a step-daughter, Judith (Stephan) Roth of Fond du Lac, five step-grandchildren, and two brothers-in-law, Dennis (Betty) Boehrig of Fond du Lac, and Joseph (Mary) Boehrig of Wyoming, MI, and various other relatives in the Fond du Lac area. His parents, and his mother and father-in-law, Earl and Kathryn Boehrig preceded him in death.
Visitation for Stanley R. Simpson will be on Saturday, July 17, 2010, from 10 AM to 12 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 12 PM at the funeral home. The Rev.
