Stasia Athanasiou

Stasia Athanasiou, 83, of Fond du Lac, died Friday, September 24, 2010, at St. Agnes Hospital. She was born January 21, 1927, in Sheboygan, the daughter of Markus and Jiannoula Benos Demopoulos. Stasia was employed by Giddings & Lewis early in her career, and after raising her children, worked for the Fond du Lac County Clerk of Courts office for over 20 years. She was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and the Philoptochos Society. Surviving are two sons, Tom (Kim) Athanasiou of Fond du Lac, and John (Dr. Michelle) Athanasiou of Fort Collins, CO, a daughter, Dr. Maria Athanasiou of Fond du Lac and five grandchildren, who were the light of her life, Colin, Nicole, Joey, Sam, and Tess. She is further survived by a half brother, Thomas (Nancy) Demouras of Fish Creek, WI. Her parents, and five brothers, Andrew, John, James, Dino, and Alex, preceded her in death.



Visitation for Stasia Athanasiou will be on Monday, September 27, 2010, from 10 to 11 AM at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 192 N. Macy Street, Fond du Lac. Funeral services will be on Monday at 11 AM at the church. The Reverend Peter Pappademetriou will officiate and burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Sheboygan. The family requests that memorials be directed to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
