Stephen A. Wirth

Stephen A. Wirth, age 81, died on Monday, February 5, 2018 at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home. He was born in Fond du Lac on March 14, 1936, a son of Alfred and Louise (Hohensee) Wirth. On November 12, 1955, he married Marlene Leu at St. Louis Catholic Church in Fond du Lac. They were blessed with 62 years of marriage before her death on November 26, 2017.



Mr. Wirth was a graduate of L.P. Goodrich High School. He had been employed with Wirth Tile Co. and Mercury Marine, as well as working in construction, until his retirement. Mr. Wirth enjoyed woodworking and playing pool.



Survivors include one son, Mike (Jane) Wirth of Florida; 2 daughters, Beth (Bob) Lueck of Westfield, WI and Karen Wirth (Jim Lietz) of Fond du Lac; five grandchildren, Lindsey, Erin, Becky, Brittany and Tony; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Margaret (Patrick) Wirth Hicken; and many relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marlene; his brother, David Wirth; and two grandsons, David and Craig.



A private family visitation and funeral service, officiated by Rev. Bill Beaton, will be held. Entombment in Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Cemetery, will follow the services.
