Stephen G. "Bud" Strong

Stephen G. "Bud" Strong, 81, died Tuesday, January 28, 2014, at Manor Care Nursing Home. He was born July 23, 1932, the son of Stephen and Loretta Christ Strong. He was a graduate of Fond du Lac High School and proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War. On June 10, 1961, he married Marjorie Wightman in Fond du Lac at St. Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was employed as a plumber by J.F. Ahern Company and Joe Bozich Plumbers. Steve was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church and active with the Tape Ministry, a Life member of Bohlman-Grimes Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1904, Trier-Puddy American Legion Post #75, Eagles Aerie #270, and Plumbers and Steamfitters Local #400. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, all sports, traveling, playing cards with relatives and friends, having morning coffee with good friends, mowing lawn on his John Deere and driving around in his golf cart. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie, four children, Mark Strong of Fond du Lac, Tammie (Richard) Taylor of Sheboygan, Scott (Sarah) Strong of Madison, Carrie (John Vercauteren) Strong of Fond du Lac, eight grandchildren, Stephen, Brett, Jered, and Jordan Strong. Jennifer (Santos) Taylor-Jimenez, Amanda Taylor, Emma and Owen Strong, two great-grandchildren, Stefan and Sofia Jimenez, two sisters, Jacquelyn (Gene) Greve of Fond du Lac and Phyllis Strong of Oldsmar, FL, four step grandchildren, and nine step great grandchildren. He is further survived by his sisters-in-law, including Marcia who lived with Steve and Marge, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and numerous good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his mother and father-in-law, Norman and Louise Wightman.



Visitation for Stephen G. "Bud" Strong will be on Sunday, February 2, 2014, from 1 to 5 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, and again on Monday, February 3rd from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at Ascension Lutheran Church, 901 County Road V, Fond du Lac. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM at the church on Monday. Pastor Jeff Blain will officiate and burial will be in Rienzi Cemetery.
