Stephen J. Milligan

Stephen J. Milligan, age 74, of Fond du Lac, died Sunday, July 17, 2022, at The Manor of Fond du Lac. He was born on May 4, 1948, in Fond du Lac, the son of Leon and Lavina (Kohn) Milligan. Steve graduated from St. Mary’s Springs High School and Moraine Park Technical College. On October 27, 2001, he married Patricia Batchelder in Fond du Lac. Steve worked at Mercury until retiring in 2008. At Mercury he was plant chairman, member of the Machinist Union, and negotiator. He was a past President of the Fond du Lac Labor Union, and Board President of the Fond du Lac Public Library and Mid Wisconsin Library System. Steve enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a Fond du Lac County Civil War Historian. Steve has taken much pride in his sobriety of the last 12 years.



Survivors include his wife Patty of Fond du Lac; his children, Shannon (Paul) Everett of New London, WI, and Craig (Annette Monge) Milligan of Peoria, IL; step-daughter, Amy (Michael) Howarth of Port Washington, WI; grandchildren, Kyle Milligan of Green Bay, WI, Brynn Peacock and Brady Peacock of Port Washington, WI; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Michael and Linda Batchelder; nephew, Paul (Nicki) Batchelder of Oakfield, WI; niece, Julie (Mike) Horetzki of Fond du Lac, WI; great nephews, Ethan and Leyton Batchelder, Noah Fink, and Sam Horetzki; his dog, Riley Magee; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and Catherine Batchelder; brother, Robert Milligan.



A celebration of Steve’s life will take place on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, from 3-6 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place.
