Stephen V. Lewis

Stephen V. Lewis, age 95, formerly of N5460 Hickory Road, Fond du Lac, died Monday, December 20, 2010 at St. Francis Home where he has been a resident since July of 2009. He was born on November 21, 1915 in Fond du Lac, the son of Clifford and Christina (Rieschl) Lewis. Stephen served in the United States Marine Corps from 1942-45, where he was a member of the Marine Scout Bombing Squadron 142 in the Pacific Theatre.On May 8, 1946 he married Mary H. Schmitz at St. Mary's Church in Fond du Lac. She preceded him in death on April 5, 2010. Stephen worked as a machinist for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad. He was a member of Holy Family Church, and was on the perpetual adoration group at Sacred Heart since 1984. Stephen was also a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. SURVIVORS: one daughter, Mary (David) Charapata of Lomira, one son, John (Barbara) Lewis of Minnetrista, MN, six grandchildren, two great-granddaughters, and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary, one brother, Gerald Lewis, two sisters, Delores Moser and Rosemary Holtz.



VISITATION: Tuesday, December 28, 2010 from 1-2 P.M at the St. Francis Nursing Home Chapel, 33 Everett St, Fond du Lac. FUNERAL: Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at the St. Francis Nursing Home Chapel with the Rev. Joseph Wolf OFM Cap officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Trier-Puddy American Legion Post #75 will conduct military graveside services.
