Steven Lynn Meixensperger, 67, of Malone passed into the loving arms of Jesus at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh on Sunday, September 15, 2024. Steve was born February 13, 1957 to Paul and Beatrice (Gfrorer) Meixensperger.
Steve had an infectious personality that drew people to him. He was loved by many.
He lived with his family all of his life. After his parents passed away, Steve was cared for by his loving brother, Jeff, and his wife, Kris. Leander and Elizabeth Ebertz (Kris’ parents) would provide additional care when needed. Steve looked forward to his visits with them and referred to them as Buddy I and Buddy II.
Steve loved eating fish on Fridays, pizza on Saturdays, and sneaking cookies whenever possible. He loved to laugh, visit with relatives, and go out to eat. He was always ready for a party. His favorite shows were Emergency and Starsky & Hutch. He had a fantastic ability to memorize many of his relatives’ birthdays. For over 20 years, he attended ARC’s week-long camp. Some of his fondest memories were vacationing with his parents and attending James Ottis School.
Steve is survived by his brother, Jeff (Kris) Meixensperger of Malone and sister-in-law, Dori Commo of North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Lee Commo.
Steve was not afraid of dying. He talked about it often and knew he would reunite with his parents in Heaven. Steve beat the odds in life, living long past expectations, and doctors underestimated Steve’s life expectancy up to the very end.
Visitation will be held Thursday, September 26, 2024 from 10:30 – 11:30 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, N9288 County Road W in Johnsburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM on Thursday at the church. Fr. Paul will officiate and burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
The family extends a special thank you to the staff of Aurora Hospice for the care and compassion shown to Steve and his family.
