Susan C. Leu

Susan C. Leu, 57, of 683 Prairie Road, Whippoorwill Group Home, Fond du Lac, died peacefully on Sunday morning, July 24, 2011. She was born in Fond du Lac, April 18, 1954, to Walter and Lillian Groeschel Leu as the sixth of nine children. She was a member of Holy Family Parish and along with her mother was a founding member/student of the James Otis School for the Handicapped. Sue was an active client of the ARC of Fond du Lac for over thirty years. Sue spent the last 12 years as a resident of the ARC Marshall Group Home and the Whippoorwill Group Home where she entertained the residence and staff with her love of music and her good humor. She was loved by everyone in her family and all those who came to know her throughout her life in Fond du Lac. Her quick wit and friendly manner towards all was a joy to everyone that she knew.Survivors include: brothers, James (Peggy) Leu of Kiel, Thomas (Lois) Leu, and sisters, Mary Ann Leu, Carolyn (Clair) Barton, Darlene (Mike) Mowbray, Marlene (Steve) Wirth and brother-in-law Thomas Dobyns all of Fond du Lac and sister, Patricia (James) Hansel of Red Granite along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Lillian Leu and sister Kathlene "Fritzi" Dobyns.



Visitation for Susan C. Leu will be on Saturday, July 30, 2011, from 9 to 11 AM at the Chapel of The Risen Christ Mausoleum, 686 Fond du Lac Avenue, Fond du Lac. Liturgy of The Word for Christian Burial services will be at 11 AM at the mausoleum on Saturday. Deacon Larry Hughes will officiate and entombment will follow at the mausoleum. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be directed to the ARC of Fond du Lac, 500 N. Park Avenue, Fond du Lac. Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
