Tanner Steven Koenigs, age 27, of Fond du Lac, passed away after battling asthma his entire life on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at St. Agnes Hospital. Tanner was born on September 15, 1997, in Fond du Lac, WI, the son of Kurt Koenigs and Suzanne (Smith) Koenigs. Tanner was a 2016 graduate of Fond du Lac High School. He was currently working at Manowske Welding. Tanner had many joys in life. Growing up when he wasn’t playing sports he was outside, hiking, biking, or longboarding around town enjoying the outdoors. Tanner grew up playing hockey and loved the NHL. If he wasn’t watching hockey, he had the UFC fights on tv, or he was playing Xbox online, chatting with his friends. He loved starting his days out lifting weights and prepping his meals for the week. At home, you could find him in the kitchen creating delicious meals. Tanner was tough on the outside but very sensitive on the inside. He was a gentle giant who would stand up for his loved ones, and never failed to take the opportunity to make them laugh. Tanner had a very special relationship with his cousins, especially Chase Koenigs. Bailey, Tanner and Chase were inseparable growing up, never failing to get into some sort of mischief.
Those Tanner leaves behind include his parents, Kurt (Jackie Sieloff) Koenigs and Suzanne Koenigs; his brother and best friend, Bailey Koenigs; his grandfather, John “Grandpa Jack” Koenigs; his aunts and uncles, Gina Smith, Chad and Cathy Koenigs, Craig and Kari Koenigs, Terry and Ann Lisowe, and Todd and Angie Lisowe. He is further survived by many cousins and close friends.
