Terry R. Gokey

Terry R. Gokey, age 80, formerly of Oakfield, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at Frontida Assisted Living, Adelaide Place, Fond du Lac. He was born on February 21, 1943, in Fond du Lac, the son of Raymond and Evelyn (Swalby) Gokey. Terry proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1963 – 1966. He was a member of the Fond du Lac American Legion, Oakfield VFW, Oakfield Volunteer Fire Department for 40 plus years, Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Department as a Deputy Reserve, and the Eagles Club in Fond du Lac. Terry worked for Mercury Marine as a diesel mechanic until his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with the love of his life, Sandra, going to Hodag Music Festival, camping, fishing, gardening, canning, and visiting their regular watering holes. Terry practiced judo, jujitsu, and aikido. He was an avid Packer fan who attended many games and threw many Packer parties.  

 He is survived by three daughters, Tammy Gokey, Tracy (Randy) Malouf, and Trudy (Quay) Vanness; Sandy’s children, Troy (Terri) Naparalla and Tina (Bill Altwies Jr.) Bloch; twelve grandchildren, Kyle (Heather), Jason (Todd), Ashlee (Brock), Brok, Jade (Daniel), Selah, Isaiah, Faith, Emily (Brandon), Lexie (Josh), Evan, and Eric; eight great grandchildren, Jayden, Sebastian, Archer, Briar, Hadlee, Clayton, Everett, and great granddaughter on the way; brother, Rick Gokey; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Evelyn; brother, Jim Gokey; and the love of his life, Sandra Naparalla.

 The visitation will take place on Friday, February 9, 2024, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will occur at Avoca Cemetery. 

 The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at Frontida Adelaide Place and Preceptor Hospice for the special love and care they showed to Terry.
