Terry J. Bashaw, 70, formerly of Fond du Lac and currently a resident of Medford, WI, died Sunday, November 23, 2014, at William S. Middleton Veterans Hospital in Madison. He was born April 15, 1944, in Fond du Lac, the son of John T. and Lucille F. Fitzgerald Bashaw. Terry was a 1963 graduate of L.P. Goodrich High School and was a veteran of the US Army serving from October 16, 1964 to October 13, 1967. On October 14, 1993, he married Juliann Schraufnagel at St. Andrews Catholic Church in LeRoy, WI. He was formerly employed by Holiday Dodge and the Social Security Administration of Fond du Lac. He was a former member of Elks Lodge #57, and the Fond du Lac Yacht Club, and had performed in productions of the Fond du Lac Community Theater. Terry especially enjoyed hunting and boating.
Surviving is his wife, Juliann, a son, Theron (Sara) Bashaw of Fond du Lac, his daughter, Heather Briggs of Guntersville, AL, three grandchildren, Michael and Ty Bashaw, and Leighton Briggs, a sister, Sheila (Corliss “Cork”) Holley of Pequot Lakes, MN, a nephew, Mike (LeAnne) Holley of Janesville, WI; Kevin (Miki) Holley, Kent (Rosa) Holley, Kimberly Holley, John (LeAnne) Miller, a step-daughter, Carrie Baker of Venice, FL, his father-in-law, Frances Schraufnagel of LeRoy, WI, other relatives and friends including his lifelong friend/”brother”, Michael Pfeiffer of Medford, WI. His parents, step-father, Archie Stroehmer, a son-in-law, Larry Briggs and a grandson, Theron Briggs preceded him in death.
Visitation for Terry J. Bashaw will be on Friday, November 28, 2014, from 4 to 7 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, and again on Saturday, November 29th, from 10 to 11 AM at Holy Family Parish-Sacred Heart Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM at the church on Saturday. Cremation will follow the services with inurnment of cremated remains in Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
