Terumi Furuya Romaine

Terumi Furuya Romaine, 84, of Fond du Lac, died peacefully at her home on June 28, 2016. She was born on March 27, 1932 in Fujiyoshida, Japan, the daughter of Iwao and Yasuyo Furuya. On November 4, 1955 she married Ralph Romaine at the American Embassy in Tokyo, Japan. Terumi grew up in Fujiyoshida, Japan and moved to the United States with her husband in July of 1956. She became a United States citizen on May 7, 1970. Terumi worked at All About Life for over 20 years. She was a kind and caring person and a wonderful mother who always put her family first. She was hardworking and a multitalented person who was good at many things, such as sewing, gardening, and cooking.



She is survived by her children, Gina Fink of Fond du Lac, Debra Lyons of Elmhurst, IL, Steven Romaine of Sacramento, CA, and Julie (Eric) Franson of Fond du Lac; four grandchildren, Lea (Matt) Possehl, Joshua (Mary) Wiesen, Ashley and Aubrey Kraus; four great grandchildren, Ava O’Malley, Lily Possehl, James and Jack Wiesen; two sisters-in-laws, Barbara (John) Maurer of Delavan and Janice Romaine of Kewaskum; one brother-in-law, Jack Vervloet; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, brother, two step brothers, step mother, sister-in-law, Donna Vervloet and brother-in-law, Alvin Romaine.



A private family service with inurnment will take place at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park.
