Thomas C. Rosenthal, Jr., 92, of 517 Luco Road, died Monday, April 9, 2012, at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born July 12, 1919, in Fond du Lac, the son of Thomas and Edith Waldschmidt Rosenthal, Sr. Mr. Rosenthal was a graduate of Fond du Lac Senior High School, received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and Juris Doctorate degree also from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. On November 24, 1949, he married Dolores Calvey at St. Joseph's Church. She preceded him in death on April 22, 1994. From 1947 to 1956, Mr. Rosenthal practiced law in Fond du Lac and was then employed by the State of Wisconsin Real Estate Examing Board. He and his wife moved from Fond du Lac to Milwaukee in 1956 and remained until 1979. From 1979 to 1993, they lived in Ft. Walton Beach, Destin, Panama City Beach, FL, moving back to Fond du Lac in 1993. He was a WW II veteran of the US Army, serving in India, Iran, and Europe, retiring as a Captain. Surviving is a son, Daniel Rosenthal of Sheboygan, a granddaughter, Kimberly Rosenthal of Madison, and his special friend, Olive Freischmidt of Fond du Lac. His parents and wife preceded him in death.
Visitation for Thomas C. Rosenthal, Jr. will be on Thursday, April 12. 2012, from 9:30 to 11:00 AM at the Chapel of The Risen Christ Mausoleum, 686 Fond du Lac Avenue, Fond du Lac. Funeral services will be at 11 AM at the chapel on Thursday. The Rev. Robert Rosenberg will officiate and entombment will follow in the mausoleum.
