Thomas E. Mielkie

Thomas E. Mielkie, 56 of Fond du Lac, died Saturday, January 23, 2021 at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born November 18, 1964 in Waupun, the son of Lawrence and Kathryn (Eggers) Mielkie. Tom graduated from Goodrich High School Class of 1982. He served in the U.S. Army from July 1982 – April 1991 attaining the rank of Sergeant. He married Kathleen M. Tobin on September 16, 1995 at Covenant United Methodist Church. Tom was currently employed with YES Equipment and Services, Inc. in Menomonee Falls as a forklift mechanic. He was a member of American Legion Post #75 and American Legion Riders. He enjoyed riding his Harley, traveling with his wife, having a few beers with friends, and was an avid Georgia Bulldogs football fan.



He is survived by his wife, Kathy; siblings, Margaret Ohrmund, Debra (Jeff) Jewett, Tracy Mielkie, Holly Mielkie, Tony (Sarah) Zentner, and Devin (Cheree) Mielkie; step-mother, Dolores Mielkie; brother-in-law, Patrick (Cheryl) Tobin; sister-in-law, Christine Foote; nieces, nephews, and other relatives; and his cats, Shelby, Savannah 2, and Dixie. He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Kathryn (Larry) Zentner; his father, just a week before, Larry Mielkie; father and mother-in-law, Thomas and Lenore Tobin; brother, Robert Mielkie; brother-in-law, Mike Ohrmund; his best man, Dan Ketter, just five days before; and his cats, Bear, Bobbi, Savannah, and Scooter.



The visitation will be held Thursday, January 28, 2021 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and again on Friday from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 29, 2021 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Due to Emergency Order #1 under Executive Order #82, masks are required while in attendance at the funeral home. Military Honors will be conducted. Cremation will follow the traditional services.



In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Tom’s name.
