Thomas R. Goebel

Thomas R. Goebel, 64, of Fond du Lac, passed away Friday, April 27, 2018 at the Hospice Home of Hope after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born October 10, 1953 to Leonard and Josephine (Thompson) Goebel. Thomas graduated in 1971 from Horace Mann High School in North Fond du Lac. On October 8, 1976, he married Mary Bunker at St. Louis Church in Fond du Lac.



Thomas was employed at Mercury Marine for 45 years, retiring July 31, 2017. His greatest joy came in spending time with his sons and grandchildren. Thomas enjoyed hunting at the cabin, especially “The Annual Holiday Hunt”.



Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Mary; four sons, Joe (Brenda), Corey (Sarah), Troy, and Travis; three special grandchildren, Wyatt, Piper, and Camden; four sisters, Sharon Goebel (Ron), Carol (Jerry) Triatik, Mary Jo (Jim) Kruck, and Linda (Bill) Reitz; one brother, Ron (Kim) Goebel; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Josephine; his wife’s parents, Gerald and Charlotte Bunker; brother, Leroy Goebel; and granddaughter, Annika Goebel.



Memorials may be directed to the family, as they will be given to Agnesian Hospice Hope and the American Cancer Society.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave. in Fond du Lac. A Liturgy of the Word will begin at 11:00 AM followed by burial in Calvary Cemetery. Cremation has taken place.
