Vera E. BaehlerVera E. Baehler, 85, of 218 W. Church Street, Oakfield, died Saturday, August 27, 2005, at the home of Nancy Conger, her daughter. She was born May 14, 1920, in Fond du Lac County, a daughter of Henry and Adela Lohaus Wiese. On October 12, 1940, she married Harley Baehler at St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oakfield where she was a member and Sunday school teacher for 30 years. She was an avid homemaker and mother. She did house cleaning throughout the Oakfield community and also cleaned at the Oakfield Telephone Company. Vera worked in the Oakfield Restaurant and also for the Oakfield Canning Factory for many years.Surviving is a daughter, Nancy (Dean) Conger of Oakfield, two sons, Robert (Sheila) Baehler of North Fond du Lac, and Richard (Jean) Baehler of Lamartine. She is further survived by 21 grandchildren, Laurie (Bill) Trepanier, Rick (Shari) Cowles, Steve (Sandy) Cowles, Chad (Deb) Conger, Amanda (Jeff) Manthey, Ann (Jeff) Bovee, Harley (Lori) Baehler, Deb (Larry) Kaatz, Cindy (David "Ed") Zellmer, Michael (Vicki) Baehler, Bobby Baehler, Michelle Coffman, Faye (Larry) Sparacio, Rhonda Strook, Keith Baehler, Pete Baehler, Jeff (Michelle) Baehler, Dawn (Tim) Charvat, Julie Baehler, Tammy (Mark) Berger, and Brandee (Eric) Morris. Also surviving are 33 great-grandchildren, four sisters, Mildred Rohrschneider of Brandon, Myrtle Van Bever of Beaver Dam, Agnes (Harold) Oelke of Fond du Lac, and Donna (Bob) Patroille of Waupun, two brothers, Jim (Mary) Wiese of Oakfield and Lawrence (Betty) Wiese of Stoughton, WI, and other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, Harley on August 18, 1987, a son, Ronald, on July 4, 1994, and two brothers, Fred and Melvin.



Visitation for Mrs. Vera E. Baehler will be on Tuesday, August 30, 2005, from 4 to 8 pm at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, and from 11 to 1 pm on Wednesday, August 31, 2005, at St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oakfield. Funeral services will at 1 pm at the church on Wednesday. The Rev. Robert Bitter will officiate and burial will be in Avoca Cemetery, Oakfield. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice Hope, Avoca Cemetery Association, or the Oakfield Lions Club.
