Victor E. Macksam

Victor E. Macksam, age 89, formerly of 441 Bischoff St, Fond du Lac, died Saturday, March 01, 2008 at Lakeview Assisted Living. He was born on March 10, 1918 in Mayville, WI the son of Emil and Alma (Baumann) Macksam. Victor served in World War II in the United States Army. On July 4, 1940 he married Bernice Staples at St. Patrick's Church in Fond du Lac. She preceded him in death on April 11, 2005. He worked for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad as a switchman beginning in 1941 and he retired in 1978. He was a member of U.T.U. 516, the American Legion, and Church of Our Saviour Ev. Lutheran Church.SURVIVORS: two sons, James (Sue) Macksam of Palm Harbor, FL, and J. Peter (Karen) Macksam of Germantown, WI, five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Bernice, and two brothers.



VISITATION: Tuesday, March 4, 2008 from 1-2 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. MEMORIAL SERVICE: Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home with the Reverend Robert A. Rosenberg officiating. Cremation has taken place with inurnment to follow at Calvary Cemetery.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
