Victor "Vic" T. Zuber, 86 formerly of South Byron, died Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at ManorCare Health services. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 16, 1925 the son of Victor T. and May Smith Zuber I. On November 25,1950 he married Ruth A. Berchtold in Brooklyn, NY. Ruth preceded him in death on March 27, 2008. Vic worked as an insurance agent for New York Life for 45 years retiring in 2005. He was born in Brooklyn, NYmoved to River Grove, IL in 1961 and to the Fond du Lac area in 1974. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army as a medic in India. He was a very active member of Sons of Zebedee- St. John's Church, Byron. He served the church as an usher, lector and was a catechists. Vic supported the Catholic community with his time and financial resources.SURVIVORS: He is survived by six children; Susan (Steven) Zuber-Shaffer, Oshkosh, Diane (Rodney) Zuber-Cadman, Mount Calvary, Therese Zuber, Fond du Lac, Celeste (Paul) Zuber-Strenn, Worcester, NY, Michael (Special friend Sheila King) Zuber, Fond du Lac, Marie Fettig, Fond du Lac, sixteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one sister May Baker, Long Island, NY. His parents, wife, and two brothers, Charles Pierce and Lewis Zuber, preceded him in death.
VISITATION: Friends may call on Friday, April 8, 2011 from 4 to 8 PM at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. There will be no visitation prior to the services on Saturday. FUNERAL: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Sons of Zebedee- St. John's Church Byron with Reverend Michael Petersen officiating. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery Parish Cemetery.
