Viola M. Larson

Viola M. Larson, 84, passed away Thursday July 24, 2014 at Harbor Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Fond du Lac. She was born January 3, 1930 in Chippewa Falls, WI, the daughter of Claus and Mary (Evenson) Kolpien. On September 4, 1974 Viola married Donald Larson in Fond du Lac.



She loved her flowers. Her favorite were lilacs. Viola was known in the area for having an amazing garden. People driving by on Hwy 45 would stop and ask Viola if she was selling flowers, not realizing that it was a private residence.



Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Donald; four children, Debbie (Mike) Thorne, Ronnie (John Painter) Zabel, Daryl Zabel and Rhonda (John DiBartolomeo) Zabel; four step-children, David (Michelle) Larson, Jeff (Sherry) Larson, John (Angel) Larson and Bart (Kathy) Larson; five grandchildren, Hollie (Brian) Welch, Tabitha Thorne, Heather Thorne, Dominic Zabel and Devon LeFeber; eight great-grandchildren; and only one surviving sibling, Henry Kolpien. She was preceded in death by her parents, one step-son, Mike Larson, and one great-granddaughter, Samantha Thorne.



SERVICE INFORMATION



A visitation for Viola will be held Monday, July 28, 2014 from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave. in Fond du Lac. There will be no formal funeral service and entombment will follow the visitation in the Garden Mausoleum at Rienzi Cemetery.



The family extends a special thank you to the staff of Harbor Haven and Agnesian Hospice Hope for the care and compassion given to Viola.
