Virginia "Jinny" C. Dolan

Virginia “Jinny” C. Dolan, 92, of Fond du Lac, died Sunday, October 2, 2022, at St. Francis Home. She was born on January 5, 1930, in Fond du Lac, The daughter of Henry and Genieva (Sander Rottman) Schwandt. On February 1, 1951, she married Lee Dolan at St. Mary’s Church, Fond du Lac. Jinny was a member of Holy Family Parish, St. Patrick’s Altar and Rosary Society, and of TOPS Club. She loved homemaking; cooking, baking, decorating cookies, knitting, sewing, and painting ceramics. Jinny was a Wisconsin sports fan including the Packers, Brewers, and Bucks. She loved decorating for the holidays, especially Christmas, to make it special for everyone who came to visit. Jinny’s greatest love was for her family, and there wasn’t a sporting event or school programs she missed for her grandchildren.

She is survived by five children, M. Christine Dolan, L. John (Paula) Dolan, Charles H. (Lynn) Dolan, Thomas P. (Barb) Dolan, and Catherine A. (Al) Quinn; six grandsons, Christopher (Tiffany) Dolan, Nader Abushhab, Daniel (Kristen) Dolan, Steven (Libbey) Quinn, David (Kristen) Quinn, and Michael Dolan; ten great grandchildren, Aubrey, Avril, AJ, Viola, Leon, Claire, Riley, Ophelia, Vienna, and Atlas; sister-in-law, Nancy Abler Binner; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 60 years, Lee; half sister, Dorothy Rottman; brothers and sisters-in-laws; Harold and Mary Sonnentag, Greg and Marge Ilk, Joe and Betty Adleman, Chuck and Patti Gratzke, Gene Abler, and Bill Binner; and cousins, Teddy Schwandt, Gail Wothe Buchholz, Wilma Wothe Dettmann, and David Wothe.

The visitation will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2022, from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM at Holy Family Church, 271 Fourth Street Way, Fond du Lac, WI. Funeral. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at church at 6:00 PM. Inurnment will follow on Friday at Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery. Cremation has taken place.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Kumar at SSM Hospital, Heather and Teresa from The Meadows, and the entire staff at St. Francis Home for the care and compassion shown to her and her family over the years.
