Virginia M. Kelly, 89, formerly of 163 E. Bank Street, died Friday, November 10, 2006, at Grancare Nursing Center where she had been a resident since July of this year. She was born May 19, 1917, in Oshkosh, the daughter of Frank and Maude Smith Garland. In 1935, she married William L. Hughes and they divorced in 1939. In 1940, she married Raymond Kelly, Sr. and he preceded in death on April 5, 1992. She was a member of Holy Family Parish-St. Patrick's Church. Virginia was formerly employed by Sears & Roebuck and Richman Brothers Clothing as a tailor. She also had been a housekeeper for the Bishop of the Cathedral of St. Paul from 1939 to 1940. Surviving are three sons, Larry (Sharon) Hughes of Fond du Lac, Raymond (JoAnne) Kelly of Indianapolis, IN, and Robert (Deborah) Kelly of Shawano, a daughter, Gloria Kelly of Fond du Lac, 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and two step-great-grandchildren, and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Garland of Gillett, WI. She is further survived by nieces and nephews. Her parents, husband, two brothers, and two sisters preceded her in death.
Visitation for Mrs. Virginia M. Kelly will be on Monday, November 13, 2006, from 3:30 to 7:30 pm at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, November 14, 2006, at 9:30 am at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Church. Rev. Victor Capriole of Holy Family Parish will officiate and entombment will be in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial has been established in Mrs. Kelly's name.
