Vivian Marie Dodd, 91, of Portage, died Sunday, April 9, 2017 at her daughter’s home in Fond du Lac. She was born February 4, 1926 in East Chicago, IN, the daughter of Michael and Barbara (Gazdik) Stankovic. She married Laurence Dodd on February 26, 1949 in Hammond, IN. They were married for 51 years and blessed with three children. Before her marriage and after raising her children, she worked as a legal secretary in Hammond, IN, Portage, WI, Cadillac, MI, and Watertown, WI. Vivian was an excellent seamstress, an avid reader and word puzzle worker, and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She cherished every visit and really loved holding each and every one in their early years.
She is survived by her children, Barbara Dodd of Portage, Richard (Pam) Dodd of Portage, and Mary (Terry) Bortz of Fond du Lac; her grandchildren, Ellen (Doug) Kant of Fond du Lac, Elizabeth (Jason) Marks of Greenville, Kristin (Russ) Maass of Portage, and Michael (Trisha) Dodd of Verona; her great grandchildren, Tyler, Henry, Stella, and Lauren Kant, MaryEllen, Oliver, and Edwin Marks, Madison and Jaxson Maass, Oliver and Clara Dodd; her sister, Elinor Doffin of Arlington Heights, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Laurence; granddaughters, MaryAlice and Abigail Bortz; sister, Betty Frak; brother, Michael Stankovic.
The visitation will be held Tuesday, April 18, 2017 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 312 South Main Street in Pardeeville, WI. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at the church with Father Paul Eruva officiating. Cremation has taken place and private interment will be held.
