Walter J. VogdsWalter J. Vogds, 84, formerly of 871 S. Main St. Lot 55 and currently a resident of All About Life Rehabilitaiton Center died Friday, March 26, 2004 at the nursing home. Walter was born September 5, 1919 in Fond du Lac, a son of Leo and Christina Enders Vogds. On June 19, 1942, he married Helen Shaw in Green Bay.Walter was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army in the European Theater. He worked for the city of Milwaukee as a custodian. He was extremely proud of his military service.Survivors include one son; Robert (Susan) Vogds of Kiel, two brothers; Norman (Gertrude) Vogds of Fond du Lac, Eugene (Vera) Vogds of Highland Park, IL, one sister; Harriet Gabel of Fond du Lac, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and three brothers; Wallace, Harvey, and Robert Vogds.



Visitation for Mr. Vogds will be held on Monday, March 29, 2004 from 12:30 P.M. until 2:30 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 29, 2004 at 2:30 P.M. at the funeral home with the Very Rev. Patrick Heppe officiating. Burial will follow with military honors performed by Trier-Puddy American Legion Post 75 at Calvary Cemetery.
