Walter N. Smith

Walter N. Smith, age 91, died Saturday, February 19, 2011 at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home. He was born on April 13, 1919, the son of Walter C. and Mary (Fox) Smith. Walter was in the United States Army serving in World War II. He worked at Mercury Marine for thirty-nine years retiring in 1985. Walter was a member of Holy Family Parish, and a member of Eagles Aerie #270 for over twenty years. He enjoyed hunting when he was younger, bowling, and he was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.SURVIVORS: two daughters, Barbara (Butch) Schrauth of Eden, Patty Neas of North Fond du Lac, four grandchildren, Doran (fiancé Christine Neft) McArthur, Lori (Kevin) Kraus, Brenda (Neil) Spranger, Bridget (Craig) Zangl, all of Fond du Lac, eight great-grandchildren, two sisters in law, Ruth Smith and Dolores Smith, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one sister, and one son in law, Dick Neas.



VISITATION: Wednesday, February 23, 2011 from 3-4 P.M. at Holy Family Parish-St. Mary's Church, 59 E. Merrill, Fond du Lac. FUNERAL: Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at 4:00 P.M. at Holy Family Parish-St. Mary's Church. Cremation has taken place.
