Wanda Foss

Wanda Foss, 78, formerly of 162 Southlake Circle, died Wednesday, July 30, 2008, at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home where she was a resident for the past month. She was born March 15, 1930, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Claude and Marcia Mathwig Jones Casper. On June 8, 1946, she married Russell E. Foss in Fond du Lac. He preceded her in death on May 18, 2006. Wanda was a member of the Church of Peace. She was formerly employed by Wells Manufacturing for 28 years, retiring in 1990. She was a member of the Eagles Aerie #270 auxiliary, the Martha's Society of the Church of Peace, was a former treasurer for the Wells Manufacturing union, and was a foster grandparent at James Otis School. She bowled at West Side Lanes for many years. Surviving are six daughters, Linda S. Searl of Neenah, Nancy L. (George) Beirne of Fond du Lac, Jean M. Johnson of Roseville, CA, JoAnn Smith of Allenton, Ellen K. (Walter) Zinniel of Fond du Lac, and Wendy M. Ennis of Fond du Lac, one son, Daniel M. (Anna) Foss of Mt. Calvary, 18 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by three sisters, Patricia Klebs of Fond du Lac, Marilyn (Leonard) St. George of Mesa, AZ, and Dawn Moss of Fond du Lac; three brothers, Melvin (Sondra) Jones of Green Lake, Claude (Special Friend Arlene Southard) Jones Jr. of Van Dyne, and Gerald (Joanna) Jones of Cumming, GA, a sister-in-law, Viola Foss of North Fond du Lac, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Her husband, her father, Claude Jones, Sr., her mother, Marcia Mathwig Casper, her stepmother, Marian Disterhaft, her step-father, Clarence Casper, an infant daughter, Amy, four brothers-in-law, Everett and Keith Foss, Edmund Klebs,and Alan Moss, a son-in-law, Allen Searl, and three sisters-in-law, Rosella Foss, Florence Balthazor, and Dee Jones preceded her in death.



Visitation for Wanda Foss will be on Friday, August 8, 2008 from 9 to 11 am at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Friday at 11 am at the funeral. A memorial has been established in Wanda's name. The Rev. Laura Hawkins will officiate and burial will be in Estabrooks Cemetery.
