Wayne D. Sabel

Wayne Delbert Sabel, 62, of Fond du Lac, passed away Monday, September 4, 2023 at University Hospital in Madison, from injuries caused from an accident. Wayne was born May 19, 1961 at St. Agnes Hospital to Delbert and Bernice (Kraus) Sabel.

Wayne attended parochial school in Johnsburg and graduated from New Holstein High School Class of 1979. He worked for Mid-States Aluminum for 28 years, retiring in May of 2023. Wayne enjoyed hunting, fishing and sturgeon spearing, 4-wheeling, and spending time up north with the family. He was a member of Fishermen Road Fish Club, Pipe Fishing Club, and Riverside Hunting and Fishing Club.

He is survived by his mother, Bernice Sabel; three siblings, Donna Gratton, Debra (Jay) Hebenstreich, and Brian (Maria Conger) Sabel; niece, Sara (Robert) Reinbold and their son, Kyler; nephews, Adam (Amy) Gratton and their daughters, Addy and Ayva, Scott (Celyna Robson) Hebenstreich, Travis Sabel, and Troy (Allison Roth) Sabel. He was preceded in death by his father, Delbert Sabel; infant siblings, Sharon, Ricky, Christine, and Kay Sabel; brother-in-law, Tom Gratton; and grandparents, Henry and Cecilia (Birschbach) Kraus and Roman and Alvina (Kloeppel) Sabel.

The visitation will be held Tuesday, September 12, 2023 from 2:00 – 5:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. The memorial service will follow on Tuesday at 5:00 PM at the funeral home. Cremation has taken place.
