WAYNE M. LINDEWayne M. Linde, 82, of the Town of Black Wolf, died Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Aurora Medical Center, Oshkosh. He was born August 13, 1928 in Fond du Lac, the son of Charles and Mabel Mosher Linde. He graduated from Fond du Lac High School with the class of 1948. Wayne then attended Fond du Lac College and Technical School where he met his wife. Wayne worked at Giddings & Lewis until entering the U. S. Army in 1951. He served during the Korean War and was assigned to Hdq. Company of 393 Field Artillery Battalion 7th Army, Germany. On June 27, 1953 he married Lois A. Scheller at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Fond du Lac. After leaving Giddings & Lewis, he worked as a purchasing agent for the Hart Supply Company in Oshkosh. He then worked in the school office at Waupun State Prison until he became a counselor, working in job placement with disabled people served by the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, State of Wisconsin. Wayne retired after 25 years with the State of Wisconsin in 1990. While retired, he worked for the Town of Black Wolf Sanitary District and served on its board until 2007. Wayne was a member of Holy Family Parish, a past president and secretary of the St. Louis Men's Club, the Knights of Columbus Council 664, and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1904. Wayne was known for his quick wit and sense of humor. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and camping.SURVIVORS: his wife of 57 years, Lois Linde; his beloved children, Debbie (Bruce) Weber, Van Dyne, Cathy (Douglas) Thayer, Oshkosh, Karen (Bruce) Rogers, Larsen, Sandy (Scott) Mateyka, Oshkosh, Chuck Linde, Oshkosh; grandchildren, Lauren, Merry, April, Joline, Jordan, Gunnar, Brenna, Tanner, Lindy and Zachary. He was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter, Amber; two brothers, Laverne and Arlyn.
VISITATION: will be from 10 AM "“ 12 noon on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Holy Family Parish, St. Mary's Church, Marquette Street and East Merrill Avenue, Fond du Lac. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at St. Mary's Church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
